The Laffer Utilities (MS-DOS)

Gently mocking the likes of the now forgotten Norton Utilities, Sierra's The Laffer Utilities was a collection of mostly pointless, lovingly illustrated and sometimes funny utilities for MS-DOS PCs. The package came complete with a database of Al Lowe's jokes, silly wallpapers, a mock headline generator, a pointless AI thing and all sorts of weird stuff and you can find out more about them here.

To actually own the complete boxed Laffer Utilities, do have a look at this eBay auction for The Laffer Utilities (PC). Seller ships worldwide.

Gunfright for the Amstrad CPC

Gunfright by Ultimate Play The Game, a lovely isometric shooter initially released for the ZX Spectrum, enjoyed an even lovelier port for Amstrad's 8-bit micro. And if you missed it almost 30 years ago, you can still grab it via eBay and this Gunfright (CPC) auction. It's the complete boxed game and the seller is shipping worldwide.

Really, a real PDP-12 computer!

Never really thought that those ancient, lumbering computing beasts would ever appear on eBay, but it seems this particular PDP-12 has just proven me wrong. It should be fully operational too, though its buyer will have to (somehow) pick it up from its current home in Long Island (NY) and move it to a brand new '70s styled laboratory or secret base.

The PDP-12, itself, is a dual processor, 12-bit mini computer that was built in 1969 in order to be used in research centers and run a variety of early operating systems. You can find out more about it here and here.

An Atari Protfolio

Used to really want a Portfolio back in the day, though I'm still not sure what I'd have done with the thing. Still finding it appealing in its Atari Portfolio eBay auction suite today, mind you, especially considering it can always be used against Terminators. The Portfolio, something between a PDA and a '90s notebook, comes with a variety of built-in apps, a 5Mhz CPU, 128k of RAM and its very own DOS. It runs on 3AA batteries.

Seller ships worldwide.
